Description
We aim to produce a well flavoured, crisp dry Sauvignon Blanc with the attractive fruit characters typical of the variety and designed for current drinking.
The 2025 season was excellent throughout the Great Southern. There were fewer hot days than in ’24 and the only significant rain event occurred after all the whites were picked…a very good vintage for the winemakers!
As is customary, we harvest the Sauvignon Blanc over a week or so; the first pick having the crisp & light herbaceous characters with the second pick being slightly riper, it has more tropical fruit flavours and palate weight.
COLOUR
Very bright and clear with a hint of light lemon/green.
AROMA
Has delicate, tropical fruit aromas of guava and lovely lemon and lime fruit characters (think baked lime cheesecake!), with a hint of grassiness.
PALATE
This is a well weighted, crisp dry wine. It’s quite subtle for a Sauvignon Blanc as it’s not full-on passionfruit or overly herbaceous, while still having good depth of delicate, restrained, tropical fruit flavours. The good palate weight from the riper fruit component makes the wine approachable now and the fresh acidity and lovely ‘lemon pith’ character from the earlier picked component provides its pleasingly dry finish. It will continue to drink well over the months ahead.
A delicious dry wine that can be enjoyed with or without food.
Best enjoyed as a young wine.
