We aim to produce a well flavoured, crisp dry Sauvignon Blanc with the attractive fruit characters typical of the variety and designed for current drinking.
2020 was a very early vintage in the Great Southern and we started harvesting in February; the first picked fruit having more of the crisp & zesty herbaceous characters with a second pick a week or so later being slightly riper and contributing more tropical flavours and palate weight.
Very bright and clear with a light hint of green/gold colour.
Quite perfumed with the attractive ‘peachy’ aromas that are so typical of Chardonnay. There’s fresh rockmelon and ripe stone fruits, all complexed by the light, slightly spicy oak from the barrel fermentation.
"This Sauvignon Blanc is a beautiful balance of those lifted, crisp and zesty characters along with deliciously fresh, tropical fruits. There are passionfruit & green melon fruit flavours that are the hallmark of this variety. The good palate weight from the riper fruit component makes the wine approachable now and the fresh acidity from the earlier picked component ensures it will continue to drink well over the months ahead. A delicious, crisp dry wine that can be enjoyed with or without food. Best enjoyed as a young wine."
