2022 Tasting Note still to come

This is a variety very well suited to the Great Southern and especially the Porongurups, with its cooler ripening conditions and especially its cooler overnight temperatures. Typically, the Riesling wines made from this region are delicate, crisp and dry and can age well. The fruit was harvested mid-March, slightly later than average after some unseasonal rain in February; picked overnight when at its coolest and processed promptly at the winery to avoid any risk of oxidation. Only the free run juice was used (yield of less than 500L/tonne) and fermented at 12 – 14 C with a neutral yeast to maximize the delicacy inherent in this variety.

Bright and clear with the barest hint of a very pale lemon.

Delicate and aromatic, it has light floral notes with attractive, light citrus characters like a fresh baked lemon cheesecake…. delicious!

This Riesling is fine and delicate while also being well flavoured, a typical characteristic of our Porongurup fruit. It has distinctive, light floral characters and the sweet lime and lemon fruit flavours that the region is renowned for. These attractive, perfumed fruit characters make the wine delicious for enjoying now and its fine natural acidity and mouth filling flavour provide the excellent persistence and length to the palate.
An excellent wine to enjoy now as an aperitif or serve with the very freshest of seafood. It should also continue to age well for several years.
