Description
We aim to make a well flavoured and beautifully textured wine with the distinctive varietal characters typical of the Pinot Noir grape.
All the fruit is from our Porongurup vineyard; with the vines now 20 - 30+yrs old they are typically low yielding and the Pinot ripens fully but slowly in the moderate conditions with very good flavour development as a result.
COLOUR
A bright, quite dark crimsony red.
AROMA
This is fragrant and complex with lifted red fruit aromas of cranberry and pomegranate. Has a hint of smokiness adding interest to the nose.
PALATE
This is a delicate wine with the complex fruit characters typical of cool climate Pinot. It has bright fruit flavours of cranberry & tamarillo and these delicious fruit flavours are beautifully balanced by the gentle tannins and light charry characters. Typical of Pinot Noir, it has a moderate palate weight with a good textural quality. Its good acidity and delicate tannins means it is beautiful drinking now and it will also handle several years in the cellar for further complexity.
