Description

We aim to make a well flavoured and beautifully textured wine with the distinctive varietal characters typical of the Pinot Noir grape. All the fruit is from our Porongurup vineyard; with the vines now 20 - 30+ yrs old they are typically low yielding. The 2024 season was particularly warm & dry so supplementary irrigation was essential to maintain vine health and there was certainly no disease risk! Our ’24 Porongurup Pinot is richer as a result and should still age very well.

COLOUR

A medium/dark red with a crimson hue.

AROMA

Has rich aromas on the nose of bright cranberry and tamarillo with a distinctive sweet pomegranate molasses character. There’s a hint of smoky prosciutto adding a lift with just a touch of potpourri adding further complexity.

PALATE

This is a well flavoured Pinot with good palate weight. It has smoky red cherry and red plum fruit flavours. These rich fruit characters are well balanced by the lightly drying, slightly ‘chewy’ tannins. Maturation for 9 months in French oak (a mixture of new, once used & twice used) has added some light charry characters.
A rich style of Pinot Noir, we believe it has the depth of fruit and the tannin structure to ensure it will handle several years in the cellar for more complexity as well as drinking beautifully now.
